Priming Exterior Wood

January 20th, 2013

Did you just install a new wooden fence, post or railing? Don’t forget to prime. Most people might get lazy and try to paint bare wood without priming. They figure that two coats should do the trick. No, wait. Throw some primer first. If you decide to skip the primer, after some time, you will notice marks on the wood. It almost looks like dirt, but it’s just the wood breathing. Most primer can be tinted to a colour similar to what you want your final coat to look like. You might add a little bit more cost on material but it will definitely make that fence, post or railing look much better.
